The first type of car tyre is a category known as performance tyres. Performance tyres are often used and preferred by owners and drivers of fast cars. This type of tyre is known for its superb performance on the road particularly its good grip. They are made of softer rubber compounds with specific tread block designs. Although these tyres do extremely well, they regrettably have a shorter life span compared to other types of car tyres.

Another type of tyre is the all-season. All season car tyres, as the name suggests, are good to use during any type of weather. Since this type of tyre is okay to use throughout the whole year, they are typically made of harder rubber compounds. Although “all season”, these tyres do not necessarily have excellent grip or superb performance. They will be able to get you through all weather conditions though – including wet seasons.

All terrain tyres, like all season tyres are types of tyres that can be used under various conditions. This type of tyre is usually used by SUVs and light trucks and come with larger tread block patterns. They work very well off-road in terms of grip and balance but also do well on city or urban roads.

However, if you are looking for the best type of tyres for driving under wet weather conditions, you might as well invest in wet-weather tyres. These tyres are especially designed for wet weather conditions providing excellent grip on wet roads. If you live in a city where it rains more often than the sun shines, this type of tyre is perfect for you!

There are also what’s called special winter tyres which are designed and manufactured to withstand harsh weather conditions involving snow and ice. Driving during the winter season can be tricky and dangerous if the vehicle you’re driving does not have the appropriate tyres that can do the work. The most essential thing for driving during this season is grip – which special winter tyres never fail to deliver.

Finally, there are types of tyres called mud tyres. Mud tyres are made especially for roads and terrains that are covered in mud. Like all terrain tyres, they also come with large tread blocks which provide the ultimate grip on the muddy surface. Unlike all terrain tyres though, these types of tyres are not advisable to be used in city drives and on normal roads.
